St Jacut
Is a pretty little town at the mouth of the estuary. The sandy coves and beaches of the town make for great rock pool fishing and cave exploring. Further round the headland there is the Pointe de Chevet  and Rougerais Plage with vast, unspoilt sandy beaches either side.

St Lunaire, Longchamp Plage
This is one of our boys most favourite beaches. If you head out of St Lunaire towards St Briac and Lancieux you see the dunes on your right hand side and a car park. This beach has a nice balance with a few waves to make it interesting but it is safe, and gently shelving. with soft sand and a promenade with 2 excellent beach cafes selling an amazing selection of food (given the size of the buildings!).

Other Attractions

Abbaye de Boquen
Within a 15 minute cycle ride or 30 minute walk from the gites, right in the middle of Boquen Forest is the beautiful Abbaye de Boquen. In 1137 some Cistercian monks from Bégard settled in Boquen. They stayed there until the revolution. At the end of the 17th century the abbey was deserted, looted and demolished. It was only in 1936 that Dom Alexis rebuilt it stone by stone. His aims were to restore the old abbey and to bring back Cistercian monastic life. Now, it is inhabited by the Sisters of Bethlehem, nuns who dedicate their lives solely to God.
